Cooking with Aglaia Kremizi
at Kea Artisanal
On the Greek Island of Kea
April 24 to 27, 2017
After the Crete tour ends, extend your stay and travel with us to island of Kea where Wild Crete Travel teams up with Kea Artisanal to introduce you to the Mediterranean way of eating, entertaining and living!
Several years ago we attended a "cooking vacation" at Kea Artisanal, a cooking school run by awardwinning, internationally renowned cookbook author Aglaia Kremezi and her husband, Costas Moraitis. Read more about Kea Artisanal here.
There, we experienced a magical approach to cooking traditional and innovative Greek dishes using freshly picked herbs and vegetables from the Kea Artisanal garden, and were introduced to new Greek wines. Together Aglaia and Costas take you on a fascinating journey through authentic Greek island and Mediterranean food that is truly inspiring!
Our custom program includes a sumptuous welcome dinner at Aglaia and Costas' home on Tuesday followed by two days of hands-on cooking classes, Greek wine tastings, and sampling local cheese, olive oil and honey. Cooking lessons are followed each day with lunch and wine. Your evenings are free to allow time for exploring the beaches, villages, and unique archaeological sites of the island.
Lodging is at a luxury sea-side hotel just steps away from the main port of Kea with its shops and restaurants. Our hotel features wifi, 24-hour room service, on-site restaurant, swimming pool, spa services and TV. Rooms include queen beds, daily maid service, AC/heating, and a private veranda overlooking the garden and a traditional Greek breakfast with local cheese, thyme honey, homemade pies and more.
